Tattoo Aftercare Guide
Keep it clean, lightly moisturized, and out of sun/saltwater. Expect mild peeling days 3–7.
When to Seek Medical Attention
If you experience swelling, spreading redness, fever, or unusual discharge, contact a medical professional immediately and notify the studio.
First 24 Hours
- Keep the initial bandage on for 2–4 hours (or as instructed)
- Wash hands before removing bandage
- Gently wash tattoo with lukewarm water & fragrance-free soap
- Pat dry using clean paper towel
- Apply thin layer of aftercare ointment
- Do NOT re-bandage unless instructed
Days 2–7: Healing Phase
- Wash 2–3 times daily
- Use unscented moisturizer (thin layer)
- Do NOT pick or scratch
- Wear loose clothing
- Avoid sunlight & tanning beds
- No swimming or soaking
Weeks 2–4: Final Healing
- Continue moisturizing
- Tattoo may look dull/cloudy (normal)
- Return to normal activity gradually
- Use SPF 30+ sunscreen
Special Care Tips
- Avoid saltwater for at least 2 weeks
- Keep away from sand and dirt
- Limit sun exposure
- Humidity may reduce lotion needs
